On October 26, 2025, Dr. David Cherwien lead a hymn and choir festival at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church. The theme for the festival was All Saints. The choir was volunteers from local churches, choirs and AGO members. The choir met Saturday morning for a rehearsal with Dr. Cherwien before the Sunday performance. One of the pieces featured was “How Firm a Foundation” commissioned by North Shore Presbyterian Church of Dr. Cherwien.
It was great to have over 120 members in the audience to enjoy the playing and reading of the writings of Dr. Cherwien’s late wife Susan Palo Cherwien for meditation in between each hymn. The event was followed by a festive reception where the audience could greet Dr. Cherwien.
