Brookfield Congregational Church’s Gary McWithey Concert Series is excited to announce to the community that Schola Chicago, an octet of professional singers from some of Chicago’s premier choirs from sacred and secular venues, internationally acclaimed organist, David Jonies, and James Grzadzinski, Composer and Conductor will perform the premier concert of the 2026 season on Sunday, October 18th at 7:00pm.  Held at the Brookfield Congregational Church (16350 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, WI), the concert is headlined by  Maurice Duruflé’s   Requiem and will feature beloved, well-known choral repertoire by Milwaukee-based composers Brian Packham and James Grzadzinski, in addition to Palestrina, Handel, Darke, and Proulx.

This evening of choral music will offer audience members an opportunity to engage with music that is evocative of the entire year.  “From the mystical wonder of winter and the splendor of Christmas to the sacred wonders that grace the spaces of Cathedrals and Orchestra Halls throughout the world , this program promises to engage a diverse audience and offers something for everyone” said Grzadzinski.  Grzadzinski noted that musicians with experience in famous midwest Cathedrals and symphony choruses will present these works in an inviting space with special attention to musicality for which these musicians are known.

No ticket purchase is required for this concert.  A freewill offering will benefit Brookfield Congregational’s Gary McWithey Concert Series.
