Canon Kucharski
is completing his fourteenth year in the position of Precentor, where his responsibilities include: directing the Cathedral Choir, providing organ voluntaries, and the preparation of services for the cathedral and diocese. As Professor of Church Music and Director of Chapel Music at Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary, a post he has held since 1991, he teaches several academic courses, directs the SATB Chapel Choir, and plans the music for eight choral services each week. Additionally, he is Music Editor of The Episcopal Musician’s Handbook, and Editor of The Episcopal Desk Calendar. He is also an avid and published composer of choral music. Canon Kucharski studied the organ with John Weissrock, conducting with Margaret Hawkins, and composition with Bernard Childs while attending the Wisconsin College-Conservatory of Music; he received his Certificate in Liturgical History and Conducting from the RSCM in 1984, and was awarded the D. Muss. (honoris causa) from Nashotah House in 2004 for originating the academic music courses for the seminary, creating The Nashotah House Plainsong Psalter, and composing the Seminary Hymn.
Tedd King
graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) earning Master Degrees in Music (1978) and Computer Science (1986). Tedd began organ studies with William Voltmer, organist and choirmaster at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, IL. He continued studies in organ with Dr. Robert Reeves at NIU and Oscar Peter at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. After completing degrees in Music at NIU, Tedd served as organist and choirmaster at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb and Instructor of Music at Lewis University, Romeoville, IL. Mr. King extended his postgraduate education by pursuing degrees in Computer Science at NIU. After completing the Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Tedd moved to Neenah, WI to take a position with the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. In 1989, Tedd moved to Milwaukee to work for M&I Data Services, now known as the FIS, as an IT Architect Specialist. Along with his position at FIS, Mr. King served as organist and choirmaster at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, WI and is currently the sub-organist of the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Episcopal, Milwaukee.
