The MacDowell Club of Milwaukee will close its 103rd season with a program of French music:

“Un cabaret classique”
5 P.M. Sunday, May 19th, 2013
Polish Center of Wisconsin
6941 South 68th Street
Franklin, WI

This informal “cabaret” was conceived by Wauwatosa mezzo-soprano Christine O’Meally, the Club’s outgoing Vice-President of Special Events. Among the composers represented on the program will be Chopin, Debussy, Fauré, Lalo, and Saint-Saens

Departing from its usual format, Club members and their guests will be seated at tables while enjoying refreshments and diverse selections by MacDowell Club performers plus a special presentation by a chorus of youngsters from the Dover Street and Tippecanoe Schools under the direction of South Milwaukee’s Julie Mauer, the Club’s Vice-President of Programs.

Celebrating over a hundred years of public concerts by its members, the MacDowell Club of Milwaukee presents its annual series of free-to-the-public programs at various venues throughout the Greater Milwaukee Community during the regular concert season. Classically trained musicians (composers, instrumentalists, vocalists, pianists, and organists) seeking opportunities for public performance are encouraged to consider membership. Male vocalists are especially welcome to apply. Please see the Club’s website for requirements, application forms and additional information: macdowellclubmilwaukee.org.
