an AGO - Milwaukee Chapter Event

In 2016, we celebrate the Fifth Anniversary of the installation and dedication of the IV/115 Schantz Pipe Organ. We are thrilled to present many exciting musical opportunities, beginning in January when, in conjunction with the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, we will present Dr. Charles Callahan in concert on Friday the 15th, at 7PMPlease note the unusual time. The following morning, on Saturday the 16th, at 10:30AM, we will gather in the choir gallery for an intimate atmosphere of discussion with Dr. Callahan, as he presents a workshop on “Practical Church Music.”

Dr. Callahan is a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Callahan is well-known as an award-winning composer, organist, choral conductor, pianist, and teacher. He is a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music, Philadelphia, Pa., and The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. He holds the Associate and Choirmaster certificates of the American Guild of Organists.

Callahan compositions are performed frequently in church and concert; his writing style has been described by The Washington Post as “gentle, confident lyricism.”

We are excited to welcome him to Milwaukee, and to Gesu, and hope you will join us!
